Syntech Properties, Inc. launches a dream residential development up on the hills of Balamban – the Amonsagana Retirement Village – a realization of the Company’s vision of creating an inspiring and innovative lifestyle concept that upholds responsible principles for environmental sustainability.

Amonsagana is a residential development designed to be in harmony with the natural environment and in complete balance socially in the local community within which it exists. SYNTECH’s director, Ms. Janice Ngiam-Chong said, “When we planned Amonsagana, we drew inspiration from our past. We want to re-create the village community here, where residents share and care for each other. Where people are happy doing things together while having their own private space and time. It is our attempt to build a modern village which offers its residents an abundant lifestyle that many have only dreamt about.”

Amonsagana, which means “Our Abundance”, is a premier class residential subdivision for active retirees to be developed on 32 hectares of rolling terrain at an average altitude of 200 meters above mean sea level on the Mandayao Hills of Balamban, Cebu. Only 45 kilometers west of Cebu City, Amonsagana offers its residents an unmatched combination of natural beauty, amazing views of the sea and mountains and the perfect setting for outdoor activities. This unique development features green architectural designs and eco-friendly practices, the highlight of which is the inclusion of an edible organic garden for every home as one of the main retirement lifestyle activity advocated. Amonsagana is planned to be at the forefront of sustainability – it represents what could be the retirement village of the future, with a return to community and environmentally responsible principles to live by. To this goal, sustainable design features have been carefully incorporated into the project, including:

  • Preservation of the natural landforms and landscape
  • Dedication of more than 40 percent of the project land to open spaces and communal amenities
  • Incorporation of edible landscaping in the common areas and houses
  • Utilization of pervious materials for construction of driveways and walkways
  • Conservation of water resources by providing rainwater harvesting and natural waste water treatment for every household
  • Conservation of energy by elevating houses on stilts and orientating them according to the elements
  • Incorporation of innovative design features to enhance passive cooling and natural lighting in the houses
  • Utilization of renewable energy source for every house
  • Usage of natural, non-toxic and/or recycled building materials wherever possible
  • Implementation of solid waste management plans.

Ms Janice Ngiam-Chong said, “As a responsible developer, we must make conscious efforts to minimize the environmental impact of our developments. We have to do our part to create communities of people with hearts for the environment and the future of this planet that is being destroyed by global warming.”

Amonsagana will be developed in four phases, namely: Saga Tierra (Earth), Saga Lluvia (Water), Saga Viento (Wind/Air) and Saga Solare (Sun/Fire). The first phase, Saga Tierra, an exclusive enclave offering only 66 detached homes, each on its own lot, is now open for sale.

Saga Tierra features three house types: the Moonstone, the Sapphire and the Ruby. Each house model is designed to match the varying needs of would-be residents and named after gemstones to reflect the earth from where they originate. Amonsagana’s Marketing Manager, Mrs. Marianne Avenido-Neri said, “Our designs are cozy, homey and perfect for finding one’s balance. All the houses have that consistent Amonsagana visual appeal and its own unique features. Here our residents will experience the healthy and happy lifestyle that they so richly deserve.”

The houses and lots are supported by an extensive network of main and arterial roads, drainage system as well as water catchment basins. A host of amenities, to be developed in phases, include the Clubhouse (with gymnasium, health clinics, beauty salons, function rooms, mini-market, restaurant/cafe and swimming pool); putting/lawn bowling green, parks, gardens, fitness & exercise corners, nature trails, tree reserves, ponds with water features, picnic groves & fishing corners, pavilions and even a chapel have been planned for the entire project.

Amonsagana is a concept and development plan of Syntech Properties, Inc., a part of the Woh Hup Group of Companies based in Singapore.
