Same Goal, New Road: Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Induction of New Officers and Trustees
With the goal of being the engine of Cebu’s Business Growth towards Global Competitiveness, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will continue to make that goal happen with its newly inducted officers and trustees for the new term.
The CCCI’s General Membership Meeting and Induction of New Officers and Trustees held last May 15, 2015 at the Grand Ballroom of Ayala City Sports Club, was attended by heads of businesses, past and present officers and members of the Cebu Chamber Commerce and Industry, and media.
The whole event was hosted by Mr. Alfonso Franciso Alvarez. The event started off with an invocation, singing of the national anthem and dinner. Ma. Teresa B. Chan, the president of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave her call to order and presidential report of what happened in the chamber last year.
The chamber was participated in many local and international activities, workshops and seminars, some examples being the CCCI Small Business Corportation and Philexport Cebu, the Outbound Trade Mission at Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, the Inbound Trade Missions at Turkey, Nigeria, Israel, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia, etc. Ms. Chan also included in her report the upcoming events, seminars and workshops that the chamber will do, one of them being the Cebu Business Month, one of their most recognized events in the chamber.

Ms. Teresa Chan introduced the chamber as a dynamic, multi-state holder institution with an ISO certified quality management that maintains its credibility as an apolitical organization.
For the new term, Ms. Chan stated the chamber’s upcoming goals: to focus on prioritized economic drivers, to consolidate internal resources and efforts, invest in improved resources, and establish strategic new chapters.
The program followed with Sec. Gregory L. Domingo, secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) giving a message about the goals of DTI, and proposed programs that will help connect the chamber and DTI in terms of future activities and plans for economic growth.
The program followed with the charging of committee chairs headed by Ms. Teresa Chan, then the induction of the chamber’s new officers and members.
The newest officers of the Cebu Chamber Commerce and Industry are Ma. Teresa Chan as President, Teodoro B. Locson Jr as VP-Finance and Admin, Melanie C. Ng as VP-Business Development, Archt. Benjamin S. Avila as VP-External Affairs Relations, Felix O. Tukinhoy Jr. as Treasurer, Christian T. Paro-an as Assistant Treasurer, Michael C. Basubas as Board Secretary, and Atty. Tomas A. Riveral as Assistant Board Secretary. The newly inducted trustees are Enrison T. Benedicto, Nelson C. Bascones, Robinson Y. Uy, Francis L. Dy, Francis O. Monera, Felix Taguiam, Fr. Dionisio M. Miranda, SVD, Remedios Marie K. Esparcia, Nimrod L. Quiñones, Pablo T. Yap Jr., Jimmy V. Chua and Atty, and Atty. Chad Rodolfo M. Miel as legal counsel.

The newest members of the chamber include Avega Bros. Integrated Shippig Corp., BCS The Business Coach, Catalina Embroideries, Cebu Educational Dev’t Foundation For Info-Tech, Cebu Metal Working Industries Association of the Philippines Foundation, Chromedia Far East Inc., Citystate Savings Bank, Concept Placement Resources Inc., Dra Furniture and Designs, Eco-Systems Technologies Inc., Go Fix Digital Printing, Integrated Computer Systems Inc. , Jeca Garments, Leuterio Realty and Brokerage, Marsh Philippines Inc., OSI Consulting Inc., Primary Structures Educational Foundation Inc., Robinsons Land Corporation, Schuhfit Inc., and Shewak’s Engravables.
The event ended with the closing remarks given by Teodoro B. Locson Jr., VP Finance and Admin, giving away of raffles, and awarding of 2014 Presidential Citations headed by Ms. Teresa Chan.
