Dole 7 Lauds Talisay City for Passing Industrial Peace Council Ordinance
The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) 7 has lauded the Talisay City Council for passing an ordinance which institutionalizes its Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC).
Dole 7 officer-in-charge Exequiel Sarcauga said the ordinance was a welcome development.
In a statement, Sarcauga said the passage of ordinance will help sustain the cooperation among the labor, management and government sectors.
Sarcauga said the Talisay City Council’s initiative is worth emulating by other local government units.
Dole Cebu Provincial Field Office Chief Labor and Employment Officer Maria Diaz said the Talisay City government is true to its commitment to support the maintenance of industrial peace.
The ordinance was authored by Talisay City Councilor Aldin M. Diaz, who is the chairman of the committee on labor, trade and industry.
The ordinance will allow the Talisay City government to appropriate funds for the TIPC’s regular and special meetings and consultations with all the stakeholders.
The TIPC is a consultative body that tackles programs, issues and other concerns related to labor and management. (PNA) FPV/EB/EBP
