Rama to Employees : ‘Do Your Job Well’
(Cebu City Public Information Office-PIO) — Mayor Michael L Rama urged the thousands of Cebu City Government employees to do their job well in his message during the Flag-raising Ceremony this Monday morning March 9, 2015 at the Plaza Sugbo.
“We have to do our job to provide better services for the people and to hasten our preparations as the heat is on,” the city’s chief executive underscored referring to the preparations for the upcoming International Eucharistic Congress, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit, among other major activities that will be held in this city next year.
The People’s Mayor bared that among the preparations is to solve the traffic congestion in the city, adding that he woke up at early dawn time for three days now to personally witness the implementation of the new traffic scheme in Escario Street.
Rama also commended Ms. Marilou Alferez, head of the Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) Enforcement Section for properly manning the traffic flow in the area.
“All dividers and barriers must be destroyed and the no-left turn policy for vehicles passing through Escario Street heading towards Cebu Provincial Capitol must be implemented to decongest the area,” he said.
Meanwhile, the mayor asked the city hall employees to do their job well extraordinarily, do the extra mile and serve 24/7 just like Alferez and the Mayor’s Special Awardees during the 78th Cebu City Charter Day Anniversary last February 24 this year whom he called to join him on stage.
He also warned that he will not give mercy to the city hall employees who will be found positive of using illegal drugs. The Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap) is continuously conducting random drug testing to all employees.
Furthermore, the mayor rendered songs entitled, “One in a Million You” and “Babayeng Sugbuanon” dedicated to all especially for the women employees (who had the chance to kiss and embrace him), as we celebrate the Women’s Month for the whole month of March this year.
