Capitol Addresses Medellin Concerns

The Provincial Government has addressed the municipality of Medellin’s concerns.

This was confirmed by no less than municipal Mayor Ricardo Ramirez.

Ramirez met again with Governor Hilario P. Davide III at the Capitol last February 11 for the second time this year.

Known as a candid critic of the present administration, he first met the governor last January 14.

During the previous meeting, Ramirez was asking for the repair of the damaged provincial roads and bridges in his town.

This time, he thanked the governor for the immediate resolution of their problems.

Though, he preferred a permanent or long-term solution instead of just patching up the damaged portions of the road.

“Katong provincial road has been taken cared na, although not permanently,” he said.

He also stated that he was assured of the governor’s plan to fully rehabilitate the road.

“At least he took cognizance of the importance of the road. We are just here to remind him that,” he said.

According to the Provincial Engineering Office, they also have completed the asphalt overlay of the Luy-a and Dagusungan bridges as well as the repair of its approaches.

The 17 of the 19 barangay captains of the town also met with the governor. Vice Mayor Alfonso Lim and the municipal councilors accompanied them.

Ramirez was late and was not able to join the meeting of his barangay captains and town officials with the governor. But he was able to talk to him during the governor’s press conference.

The barangay captains also hand carried their resolutions to the governor asking for financial assistance for their projects.

Ramirez also requested for financial assistance for the celebration of their town fiesta this April.

One of the activities during the fiesta celebration is the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) Night. The barangay captains invited Gov. Davide to be their main guest during the event.
