Energy Sec Assures Stable Power Supply on May 13 Elections
Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla, in a recent visit in Cebu, assured that the entire country will have no power interruptions during the May 13 midterm elections.
Petilla, who was in Cebu for the Visayas Power Summit, said DOE has enough power supply on that day, but except on the “usual power trippings,” there will be no outages all over the country.
Petilla, however, warned that in 2016, the Visayas area will experience power problems due to the increasing power demand. He said additional power plants must be constructed to meet this demand.
“Power is a long-term problem that requires a long-term solution,” he said.
