The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)7 yesterday morning announced their Science and Technology Fair starting October 2 to 4, 2014 at the J Center Mall Convention hall, in Bakilid, Mandaue City.

DOST 7 Regional Director Edilberto L. Paradela said the scheduled fair is in recognition to all scientists nationwide who boosted their skills and innovations.

Paradela said the products that are going to showcase are all locally innovated which could be of great help to everybody who could imitate them for their own private livelihood.

According to Paradela the three-day fair are just a mere display of products made locally by various scientists ” but not to sell them for those who are interested, but if anybody is interested for the product, he may negotiate with the inventor regarding the price and the date of its delivery”, he said.

Paradela explained the display items will include food processor, water dispenser and processor, animal feed machines, and other different kinds of innovations which would translate how Filipino scientists now are known to meet the global challenges.

Paradela also pointed out that this is how exactly fit to the theme of the fair, “Philippines: A Science Nation Meeting Global Challenges”, which focus the intellectual capability of many gifted Filipinos in the field of science and technology.

He said by this showcase, all children who are studying in various science high schools all over the country will be encouraged to continue exploring their skills and talents to become inventors in the near future.

Paradela also revealed their intention to have science high schools in every municipality of region 7 to develop and harness all children’s skills especially those who are performing well in the subjects of science and even in mathematics.

On this aspect the Department of Education (DepEd) plays a great role to find out who are the talented students in every municipality, Paradela said.

He said that fair, which will start today, will be ushered with visitors not only from academe but even to science students and men and women in all walks of life who are interested to witness how far are Filipinos reached the
