‘These Ambulances Knows No Politics’
The Cebu City government has acquired three more units of brand new ambulances and these were issued to the barangays so that these can be used to transport patients to hospitals that need urgent medical attention.
City Councilor Dave Tumulak said the two brand new ambulances were assigned to Basak-Pardo Emergency Response (BPER), while the other one was given to Barangay Tisa.
However, Tumulak said BPER also turned over two of its used ambulances to Barangay Apas and Barangay Sambag 2.
Tumulak, who organized BPER while he was still the barangay captain of Basak-Pardo, said their ambulances will respond to calls for assistance from whoever will request iregardless of political colors.
“Bisan kinsa ang mo-request og tabang nga magpahatod og ambulansya paingon sa ospital amo g’yud nga tabangan sa BPER sa walay pagpinig og bulok-politika,” said Tumulak.
A representative from the Toyota Motors Corporation personally delivered the brand new ambulances to the City Hall last Thursday and these were officially received by the city officials.
The arrival of three more brand new ambulances that were purchased from the Pagcor funds has brought to nine the total number of city-owned ambulances that were entrusted to the barangays.
Tumulak, a former radioman, asked the City Hall’s General Services Office (GSO) under Engr. Dionesio Gualiza to provide the ambulance with enough fuel supply so that the public services may not be hampered.
