Power Transmissions in E. Samar Normal Despite Earthquake — NGCP
Manila-– Transmission services in Eastern Samar remains normal despite the 5.1 magnitude earthquake experienced in the province Sunday.
In a statement Monday, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), said the grid remains unaffected and they have not received complaints of power interruptions and problems on transmission facilities in the area.
The earthquake’s epicenter was traced some 114 kilometers (km) northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar on June 22 at around 5:08 pm.
Aside from the grid, there are also no reports on damage to properties or casualty after the earthquake.
Relatively, based on the assessment of the Department of Energy (DOE), power restoration in areas devastated by Typhoon Yolanda is 98 percent complete. (PNA) LAM/JS/JLD/UTB
