Capitol Warns Illegal Settlers
The Provincial Capitol on Thursday warned illegal settlers or would-be illegal settlers to stay away from province-owned lots or face demolition.
“I am warning them nga kung naghuna-huna sila nga magtukod sa province-owned property, ayaw nalang ipadayon. Anugon lang ilang magasto,” said Loy Anthony Madriga, head of the Capitol’s anti-illegal squatting group.
Madrigal said the illegal houses in Sitio Upper Panabang, Barangay Apas, Cebu City, for one, will be demolished any time soon.
Madrigal said they are already making a list of those illegal dwellers who built their houses in this province-owned lot despite the Capitol’s continuous warning.
He said apart from it is illegal to use lots without the permission of the owner, the area in Panabang is also hazardous for human habitation.
He said this part of Apas is sloppy and steep which could endanger the lives of the residents and their properties during heavy rains.
