Naga Wins Seal of Good Housekeeping Silver Grade
For the second time around the City government of Naga, Cebu has been awarded the Seal of Good Housekeeping award for 2012.
“This is to certify that the City of Naga, Cebu is a recipient of the Seal of Good Housekeeping for (calendar year) 2012, Silver Grade,” read the certification issued by acting director of Bureau of Local Government, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Mayor Valdemar Chiong said the award was due to their continuous “good government” and “transparency” which are reportedly being practiced in his city.
“Tungod na sa gihimo nato nga good governance practice and transparency,” he said.
For a local government to get the award, it must pass the following criteria: good financial housekeeping, disaster preparedness, social protection of the basic sector, business friendly and competitiveness, environmental compliance and law and order and public safety.
In 2012, the city first got the DILG’s Good Housekeeping award bronze plaque for its good planning, sound fiscal management, transparency and accountability and valuing performance management.
