A three-day annual conference of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) dubbed as “Leaping with Tigers: Shared Identity and Common Destiny” is slated on September 17-19, 2014 at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Lahug, Cebu City.

In a press conference last Feb. 13 at Uno Restaurant in Waterfront, PMAP President Atty. Josephus Jimenez said that their event focus this year will be on the ASEAN Integration next year. “Next year the 10 countries comprising the ASEAN will be integrated into a single economic and production base therefore the other countries like China, India, Japan and South Korea will join us as a community…” said Jimenez.

ASEAN 2015 refers to the integration of Southeast Asia into one defense, cultural, economic and productive community to leverage on shared strengths and vision. PMAP’s conference then will reach out neighboring countries that chart the best businesses and people management, managers or corporate, to face the regional and global imperatives to be discussed and learned.

“We take our place in the league of ASEAN’s economic tigers as we run a race that fosters a shared identity and fulfills a common destiny”, said Luz Co Laguitao, PMAP vice president and conference chairperson.

The conference is highlighted with activities such as fun filled social events, plenary discussions on relevance of the broader economic landscape that covers key dichotomies: Strategic HR vs. Operational and Functional HR, Trends vs. Core HR Competencies, Best Practices vs. New Ideas and HR Innovation, Issues and Challenges vs. Skills, and Global Mindset vs. Local Preoccupation.

PMAP, founded more than 56 years ago, is strictly a professional, non-stock, not-for-profit organization with over 1,800 member companies and individual management executives engaged in Human Resource Management (HRM) and Industrial Relations (IR) work.

PMAP is targeting around 2,000 participants for the conference. For early bird registrants who will sign up starting today until the end of March may purchase the lowest price of registration fee. The registration fee includes meals and freebies except accommodation and airfare. For reservation or inquiries, you may visit PMAP’s website: www.pmap.org.ph. (With Press Release)
