CCCI Invites New Members to Join the Chamber

As the “Engine of Cebu’s Business Growth towards Global Competitiveness” for 110 years, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) continues to cultivate a legacy of excellence for Cebu and its people by pursuing series of activities through advocacy, linkages and synergy.

Such activities which have become significant factors to the progress of Cebu’s Business Community have been realized because of the chamber’s highly efficient and effective divisions with key areas of specialization and which offers a wide range of services to strengthen the capabilities of its members.

The chamber’s Membership Development Division (MDD) is the one responsible for the recruitment of new members and all other undertakings that cater to members’ needs. MDD facilitates Membership Applications, Processing & Acceptance, New Member Orientation & Committee Matching, Export Documentation and Information Exchange. It also creates programs and activities that will foster camaraderie and more active member participation and involvement such as General Membership Meetings and Sports Activities & Fellowship among others. Furthermore, to retain its membership, MDD has introduced the Centennial Business Access Card (CBAC), a privilege card which entitles each member company for discounts, special offers and other privileges from its fellow members.

The External Affairs & Relations Division (EARD)  is the advocacy and relations arm of the chamber.  It lobbies for policies, programs, projects and issues affecting business and its environment, nurtures public-private partnership through representation in the council, board or committees of government and non-government organizations; promotes business, links  and builds partnership  with local, national and international  sectors;  and  maintains regular media tie-up and  publication of chamber events.

The Finance & Administration Services Division (FASD) of the chamber provides the needed financial, administrative and human resource management support to the other operating divisions. It also manages CCCI Building and its facilities including Conference and Training Room Rentals.

The Business Development & Management Services Division (BDMSD) is responsible for the implementation and realization of business improvement and opportunities not just to its members but also to businesses in the community especially in preparation for the ASEAN Economic Integration this 2015. BDSMD offers services in the form of trade and investment promotions, fairs and exhibits, trainings and seminars, entrepreneurship development, business support, octanorm exhibition system for school and company events and other special projects in cooperation with vital industry sector.

And the Cebu Business Month Division (CBMD) which focuses on the chamber’s annual Cebu Business Month celebration every month of June. The CBMD is devised to magnetize investments by helping create an encouraging business ambiance and sharing industry and expertise among businesses and affiliate organizations through shows, exhibits, trade fairs, sporting events, conferences, fellowships, cultural presentations and tourism prospects sustaining the Cebu business blazing momentum. It intends to convene the industry stakeholders in a month of relevant activities and projects that focuses on the four (4) major thrusts: ICT & BPO, Tourism & Investment Promotion, Entrepreneurship, and Creative Industries & Advocacy.

In addition to its services, CCCI in partnership with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines was granted a franchise to host the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) which allows the chamber to offer patent services and promote practices of intellectual property rights to its member companies as well as to its partner agencies to help and assist SME’s to protect and improve their businesses. To note, CCCI is the only non-academic institution that is hosting ITSO in the Visayas and Mindanao network.

Other ITSO services include providing affordable and localized access to the following: patent information; patent search services; patent specification drafting services; patent filing and prosecution services; seminars and training courses on patent information; and assistance in IP commercialization.
