Children-Evacuees Need Help
At least 18 orphaned children from Tacloban City aged zero to four years old need help.
Jay Avena of Kid-Aide, a newly-formed group which helps children-evacuees from Tacloban City, said the children, now housed in Asilo de Milagrosa, need milk, diapers, and vitamins.
Avena said they are currently giving the kids Nestogen, 1, 2, 3, being the cheapest at around P500 per 1.3 Kg.
Avena added these children were from the different evacuation sites in Cebu but were transferred to Asilo by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) so they can be given more attention.
He said some of them “may still have living parents but they are too young” to say their parents’ name.
Meanwhile, 23 more orphans are coming to the Asilo evacuation center within the week, said Avena. And so far, they are fed by generous private individuals, he added.
To those who want to conduct feeding programs or bring something to these children, Avena said they can inquire with Asilo or go there themselves to know how they can help.
