Talisay LP to Field Linao Chief as ABC Prexy
The Liberal Party is fielding Linao barangay captain Fe Ylanan as its bet in the coming Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) president election.
Talisay City administrator John Yre delos Reyes said Ylanan, being on her third term, has a good chance of winning the post other than other LP-allied barangay captains. Delos Reyes claimed that six of the 22 barangay captains are Liberal.
But although there are only six of them, Delos Reyes–whose father is one of the LP officers– said they are sure of getting at least 17 votes for Ylanan. He said even if Alayon claims 18 barangay captains, not all of them are supporting its bet, barangay Bulacao chief Raul Cabañero.
For an ABC presidential candidate to win, he must get at least 12 votes (50 percent + 1). After hearing the sentiments of the Alayon barangay chiefs, Ylanan may get more than 12, said Delos Reyes.
