Council To Ask Hand-Held Radios from Senator
As part of its disaster preparedness, the Talisay City Council is set to request Senator Loren Legarda to donate hand-held radio communication devices.
The hand-held radios, according to Councilor Danny Caballero, will be for the use of the Office of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, which will respond to any disaster in the city. Caballero said each of the city’s 22 barangays will also be given the same for easy communication.
“The acquisition of communication devices such as handheld radios for the Talisay City Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management is necessary for effective mobilization of its services,” the councilor said.
Last month, Mayor Johnny de los Reyes convened the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council to prepare the group in cases of calamity. The council has a new set of members and officers.
