Foreign Investors Bring $901 Million to the Country in November 2024


Foreign direct investments (FDI) in the country reached $901 million in November 2024, with funds coming from Japan, the United States, and Singapore. This was 19.8% lower than the $1.1 billion recorded in November 2023. The investments went into manufacturing, real estate, financial and insurance services, and administrative and support services.
Investments in debt instruments by foreign investors dropped by 17.9% to $791 million from $964 million. Equity capital investments excluding reinvested earnings) also fell by 58.9% to $35 million from $85 million. Meanwhile, reinvested earnings remained stable at $74 million.
Despite the decline in November, total FDI from January to November 2024 reached $8.6 billion, a 4.4% increase from $8.2 billion in the same period in 2023. (ASC)
