PH Receives Highest Rating for Remote Learning Readiness
The Philippines was rated “5 stars” by the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) as one of a few countries with the “highest readiness for remote learning,” according to their recently published report.
Unicef analyzed a total of 67 countries with low and middle incomes and were rated each according to their ability and readiness in delivering remote leaning due to unfortunate events that disrupts face-to-face classes in their study titled “Ensuring Equal Access to Education in Future Crises.”
The Philippines shares the highest rating in the RLRI (Remote Learning Readiness Index) of 5 stars along with Argentina, Barbados, and Jamaica for having a “strong policy response for remote learning for all or almost all education levels,” according to Unicef.
The Department of Education (DepEd) highly welcomed the report and said that over 27 million students had the chance to continue their education amid the pandemic. (GFB)
