LTO 7 Enforcers Now Equipped with Body Cams

In the latest “Kapihan sa LTO 7”, Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 gave body cameras for its law enforcement officers (LEO) to use during their operations.

LTO 7 regional director Victor Caindec led the turn-over of the 46 body cams to be equipped by their LEOs.

The body cams unlike before cannot be simply turned on and off by LEOs — the body cameras are also equipped with a GPS tracker and can also live stream the operation.

Caindec said that the videos recorded by the body cameras are uploaded to their local servers and can be accessed even at their LTO Central office in the soon to be opened Operation Center.

He also said that LEOs can’t access or delete the uploaded videos on their servers.

LEOs and the server administrator have been trained to properly use and manage the body cams.

The body cameras will serve as protection for LEOs during the operations. (ASC)
