Cebu Police Investigates Alleged Oxygen Hoarding

Published

on

Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is now investigating the alleged hoarding of medical-grade oxygen tanks in the city.

This comes after reports that some suppliers are hoarding the supplies to manipulate prices, especially now that Cebu is currently fighting another surge of COVID-19 cases.

CCPO had a meeting with suppliers and said that there is still a sufficient oxygen supply.

Moreover, the Department of Health 7 (DOH 7) has issued an advisory discouraging the public from buying medical-grade oxygen for home and shall only be used in a hospital setting.

DOH 7 Regional Director Dr. Jaime Bernadas said that improper use of medical-grade oxygen can lead to oxygen toxicity after inhaling too much or unregulated amounts of oxygen. (ASC)
