Liquor Ban, Curfew Back in Cebu City Again
After the spike of COVID-19 cases in Cebu City, the city government has decided to reimplement the liquor ban and stricter curfews in the city.
Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama has implemented an executive order to impose a liquor ban in public places and also impose a curfew that will start at 10:00 PM until 4:00 AM the next day.
While drinking liquor is not allowed in public, people are still allowed to drink only inside their homes. However, they are prompted to still follow the minimum health protocols, especially gatherings of a large number of people.
The liquor ban will be active for one month after that, the city will reevaluate if there is a need to extend the ban.
Meanwhile, only authorized persons outside of residents (APOR) — those who are working in BPO’s and other industries are allowed to go outside of their residences during the curfew.
On July 24, 2021, the city has recorded 308 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total active cases to 2,009. (ASC)
