Cebu City Aims to Vaccinate 2,500 Persons Daily
Cebu City government aims to vaccinate around 2,500 Cebuanos daily to reach 70% population protection, according to the Cebu City Health Department (CCHD).
With the increasing interest of Cebuanos to be vaccinated from COVID-19, CCHD Head Dr. Jeffrey Ibones said the government need to take advantage of the clamor for vaccination.
The city needs 1.4 million doses of vaccines to achieve 70% population protection, Ibones added.
Meanwhile, the city has also said more vaccination sites will be made available for far-flung areas, namely the Barangay Bonbon gym, Don Bosco Technical School in Barangay Punta Princesa.
Barangay Bonbon gym will serve the residents of Barangay Bonbon, Barangay Babag, Barangay Sudlon 1 and 2, Barangay Sinsin, Barangay Malubog Pung-ol Sibugay, and Barangay Taptap.
Meanwhile, Don Bosco Technical School in Barangay Punta Princesa will serve those in Barangay Pamutan, Barangay Buhisan, Barangay Sapangdaku, and Barangay Toong.
The city also recently opened a vaccination facility in Barangay of Cambinocot yesterday, July 2.
With these newly opened vaccination sites, the city is now operating a total of eight vaccination sites, which will help achieve 70% population protection by December.
Ibones also said that the city is also asking for more allocation of vaccines to ensure continuous vaccination in the city. (ASC)
