Mactan Airport Positive Aviation Industry Will Recover Soon
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic halted almost all means of transportation all over the globe. Airplanes, which are usually seen in the sky are now parked and idled at airports and hangars due to the suspension of air travel.
Despite the uncertainty on when COVID-19 may be curbed, Megawide Construction Corporation is still hopeful that air travel will soon recover.
“The situation we are in is unprecedented but we remain in high spirits for the company’s prospects moving forward. This is the reason why we are building our runway for the future, which we envision to propel us to even greater heights in the years to come,” said Megawide chairman and chief executive officer Edgar Saavedra in a statement.
The Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) had lost 50.6% in revenue due to the pandemic.
