DepEd-7 To Conduct SLMs Dry Run

Published

on

The Department of Education Central Visayas (DepEd)-7 will conduct a dry run on Self-Learning Modules (SLMs) before the opening of classes on August 24 for the school year 2020-2021.

SLMs is an alternative learning delivery modality that ensures all learners have access to quality education especially to those who reside in remote areas.

DepEd-7 Regional Director Salaustino Jimenez said that the implementation of the dry run is very efficient since it will be able to detect possible technical problems and other difficulties in the system. He also added that their office is ready to provide assistance if there will be any issues.

Meanwhile, part of the SLM is the ‘Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education’ (MTB-MLE), in which a learner from Kindergarten to Grade 3 will begin to learn through their mother tongue.

As the school year 2020-2021 is fast approaching, DepEd-7 is urging all parents to support SLM for the successful implementation of the modern learning technology especially now when actual face-to-face classes are still prohibited due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (MLC)
