MCIA Still Prohibits International Flights; Gives Safety Protocols to Arriving Passengers
All international commercial flights going to Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) are still suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
However, passengers who are repatriated, rerouted flights from Manila, and via international sweeper are exempted in the on-going flight suspension.
MCIA is on the top of the situation as they constantly observe health and other safety protocols to help contain the virus.
All international passengers arriving in MCIA will have to present the following requirements:
- All international passengers arriving in MCIA must show a valid passport and visa with proof of filiation or marriage.
- For foreign nationals and returning non-Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), proof of pre-booked Cebu hotel accommodation must be presented.
- For OFWs, they must coordinate with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) for requirements and guidelines.
- Completed forms from the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) must also be presented upon check-in.
- All passengers shall undergo a COVID-19 RT-PCR swab test upon arrival at MCIA. (Swab test costs P4,400 for OFWs and P4,900 for returning overseas Filipinos and foreign nationals.)
Passengers however are urged to monitor the status of their flights they’ve been into to ensure that they have the necessary documents to present as requirements in compliance with the government. (MLC)
