LTO, LTFRB to Use Online/Cashless Transactions
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) are going to adopt some changes to ease customer experience under the “new normal” as the global pandemic on the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues.
On June 16, 2020, the two agencies will push for online/cashless transactions to lessen physical contact in their field offices.
This comes as the Philippines is constantly making adjustments to revive the economy with the so called “new normal” slowly being implemented in all parts of the country.
LTFRB, through its latest initiative called “Public Transportation Online Processing System” (PTOPS) will offer convenient transactions between the client and the agency through a partnership with “pisopay.com“, which aims to make better and faster transactions possible. It also ensures the physical distancing among clients which will be continuously observed.
According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), PTOPS is very user friendly as it allows users to easily create their accounts, select transaction type and even schedule an online appointment with LTFRB.
PTOPS is currently on its pilot testing stage.
Meanwhile, transactions made with LTO would also be hassle-free through the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS).
LTMS allows the client to process all their transactions online including driver/conductor’s application for renewal or license, request for revision of records and request for certification of no apprehension.
Traffic violators however, may settle their transactions by paying fines at any LTO district office cashier or via online banking. (MLC)
