IATF-EID: Cebu City to be Placed Under MECQ, Whole CV on GCQ

The national Interagency Taskforce on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) announced earlier that the entire Central Visayas, except Cebu City, will be placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from June 1 to June 15.

Meanwhile, Cebu City will be under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the high number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city.

Cebu City as of May 28 has a total of 2055 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 471 recoveries and 25 deaths.

Cebu City is also classified by the IAFT-IED as a high-risk urbanized city.

Areas that will be placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) are Cebu Province, Mandaue CIty, Lapu-Lapu CIty, Bohol, and Negros Oriental.

However, areas with a high number of COVID-19 cases may be placed under ECQ.
