DSWD Announces New ‘Pantawid Pamilya’ Beneficiaries
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 announced the seventh set of beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilya in the Central Visayas.
Nationwide, there are more than 889,000 households who are recipient of the Pantawid Pamilya program where 43,329 of which are from region 7. Of this number, 1,731 beneficiaries are the new batch, which will start registration this month.
Based on the report of the Philippine Information Agency 7 (PIA-7), all four provinces from the Central Visayas have residents who are included the list. Bohol has 177 families; Cebu with 708; Negros Oriental 723; and Siquijor with 123.
PIA 7 said that before the year ends, more than 25,000 beneficiaries are set to undergo a transition from the Pantawid Pamilya program to DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program, a part of the department’s plan to help these families improve their economic status.
