Mayor’s Office Bares 3-year Program
The Office of the Mayor reported on Tuesday its plans and programs within the three years under the second term of City Mayor Michael Lopez Rama.
In a press briefing, Secretary to the Mayor Belinda Navascues shared to the media the city’s priority programs and activities to be accomplished under Rama’s administration following his thrust and policy direction.
As much as possible, City Hall will be transparent in its operations especially in delivering quick, quality service to its constituents with accountability and responsibility.
By ensuring the implementation of a ‘People Privately Driven Governance,’ the Mayor’s Office laid out five major activities designed with success indicators for implementation within three years.
Such plan includes professionalizing government employees to be able to give excellent public service to the people. All employees will undergo the Public Service Excellence Program (PSEP), a 6 module development program tested in other local government units with an aim to provide better service.
A series of barangay empowerment program will also be implemented to all officials in the city’s 80 barangays starting this November 2013 until June 2016. It aims to equip officials with the proper administration skills and teach them government procedures such as liquidating, program planning, management and others.
Establishment of a Secretariat office that will oversee special bodies and commissions based from a recommendation by the review committee established by the mayor will be implemented as part of streamlining effort of the administration. Also, the ‘City Hall Satellite Office in the Bukid’ in Taptap will be fully operation by next year with frontline services available to constituents in the hillyland of the city.
