Get To Know the Topnotcher: Hannah Corpuz
It is indeed every parents’ dream to see their child succeed. It is also every child’s dream to see their parents happy and proud of them.
Out of hundreds examinees, Hannah Mae Tampus Corpuz got the number 1 spot in the recent February 2020 Occupational Therapist Licensure Examination.
Born and raised in Cebu, the only child of Rene and Michelle Corpuz, Hannah, took her primary education from Grade 1 to Grade 3 in Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu before transferring to Sacred Heart Hijas de Jesus to finish Grade 4 to Grade 6. During her high school days, Hannah finished her secondary education in Cebu City National Science High School.
In 2014, Hannah was finally in college and took the Occupational Therapy (OT) program in Velez College and graduated Cum Laude in 2019.
Hannah described herself as a silent type at first but she’ll eventually engage in conversations.
“Hilomon ko at first pero basta magkaila nata ok ra kaayo,” said Hannah in an exclusive interview with MCN.
Hannah has also a thing for Korean dramas or K-dramas.
“Akong hobbies kay hilig kaayo kog mga Korean Dramas then hilig sad kog mga computer and online games then laag laag and kaon kaon with friends,” Hannah added.
Hannah also revealed that she had self-doubt on whether she’s going to make it or not.
“It’s more of a personal challenge, di malikayan naa tay mga doubts, mahadlok ta ma fail and kana sang expectations sa laing mga tao,” she said.
But behind all the doubts and sleepless nights, she accepted it all as a challenge to excel in everything she does. She also revealed that she used the “Pomodoro Technique” to study and during her reviews. Pomodoro technique is a time management technique that uses a timer to break down work into intervals.
“Nigamit ko sa pomodoro technique like mag study ko for 30 minutes then mag 5 minutes rest ko then balik nasad study,” she said.
Now that she is a licensed occupational therapist, Hannah said that she is willing to accept every opportunity that may come into her life. (MLC)
