CGPA Leads Ranks Donning of Wounded Soldiers
The Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto led the donning of ranks to wounded-in-action soldiers on Monday, Oct. 21 at the Armed Forces of the Philippines General Hospital in Quezon City.
The promotion to the next higher rank was conferred to 44 wounded soldiers who are currently recovering after sustaining injuries in the conduct of their respective missions including those who were involved in the Battle of Marawi.
Aside from the promotion each soldier received, they were also given a Special Financial Assistance from the Presidential Management Staff and additional cash incentives to aid the troops and their dependents.
“Our soldiers risked their lives faithfully carrying out the missions entrusted to them so that the rest of us can go about our daily lives in peace. Their promotion to the next higher rank is our way of recognizing their gallantry and an expression of our nation’s gratitude towards their sacrifices,” said Army Spokesperson Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala.
