PCG-7 to Launch “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos”
The Philippine Coast Guard Central Visayas (PCG)-7 will launch “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos” on Saturday, October 26.
“Oplan Biyaheng Ayos” is a preparation program by the PCG-7 as Undas is approaching. The program will end on November 5.
PCG-7 spokesperson Lt. Junior Grade (JG) Michael Encina said that part of their security measure plan is to deploy units in different ports and piers in Region 7. K9 units will also be deployed to sniff possible suspicious cargos carried by passengers.
PCG-7 will also deploy different units in-charged of the pre-departure inspection. Part of the said inspection is making sure that sea vessels are fit to travel mainly to avoid naval accidents.
Meanwhile, PCG-7 supports the campaign against processed meat products to avoid the spread of the African Swine Flu (ASF). PCG-7 will intercept any processed meat products especially from Luzon.
PCG-7 will be using their meat sniffing dogs to identify passengers who are carrying those banned products. (MLC)
