15 Modern Jeeps to Traverse Cebu City
There are now 15 brand new beeps (bus-jeeps) to traverse Cebu City as the Cebu People’s Multi-purpose Cooperative launched it at the Plaza Independencia on September 16.
Macario Quevedo, the coop’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said that they have currently 700 franchises from operators and passengers who decided to joined their coop.
Meanwhile, these beeps are called “people’s jeep” and it features a television set, WiFi and CCTV cameras for security purposes.
The 35-seater people’s jeep has a minimum fare of P10 for each passenger and it will traverse the Colon ⇒ Imus St. ⇒ Ayala ⇒ Barrio Luz ⇒ Banilad ⇒ Talamban and vice-versa route.
The coop revealed that the people’s jeep might start their trip today.
Quevedo added that they are planning to purchase 200 additional units by June next year.
Each unit costs around P1.9 million. (MLC)
