Facebook has just launched the program “Facebook Community Boost” on September 11 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City.

The said program was also in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications and Technology (DICT) and the Department of Trade and Industries (DTI).

The main goal of the program is to help entrepreneurs maximize the function of Facebook and all of its features to bring vast development to their businesses.

“We’re constantly inspired by what small businesses have been able to achieve using tools on Facebook and our family of apps. We look forward to taking Facebook Community Boost events to four Philippine cities this year starting in Cebu and then in Dumaguete, Manila, and Davao. Our goal is to further support even more Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and communities in their digital transformation journey,” said John Rubio, Country Director of Facebook Philippines.

Rubio also said that through Facebook Community Boost, they can help small businesses engage in other big business opportunities.

“In Facebook, we can help small businesses to connect to much large opportunities,” Rubio said.

Meanwhile, DICT Undersecretary Eliseo Rio said through a video presentation that through Facebook Community Boost, everyone can utilize the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

“In partnering with Facebook on this new program, we hope to continue fulfilling the Philippine government’s vision of collaborating with key movers so that we can bring the benefits of ICT and governance innovation straight to the Filipino people,” Rio said.

Since 2017, Facebook has trained over 5,000 entrepreneurs in 21 cities all around the Philippines with programs like #BoostYourBusiness and #SheMeansBusiness.

With Facebook Community Boost in the Philippines, Facebook bolsters its commitment to helping MSMEs and communities to grow with free and easy-to-use Facebook tools and features.

At the event, entrepreneurs are looking to get their start-up business ideas off the ground. (MLC)
