2 Fire Incidents Raze Houses in Metro Cebu
A morning fire rattled the residents of Villa Verna Subdivision in Sitio Kalubihan, Barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday, August 8.
Authorities received the alarm around 10:18 in the morning and was declared fire out at 11 in the morning.
Fire Officer 1 Meldrid Villaban of the Lapu-Lapu City Fire District said that only 1 house was affected and it was burned to the ground.
Based on the investigation a mosquito coil (Katol) was the cause of the fire.
Damages were estimated to cost around P45,000.
Meanwhile another fire incident broke out in Barangay Hipodromo on the same day.
Around 4 houses were razed by the fire leaving 20 people homeless.
Senior Fire Officer 2 Rodifer Comeros said that they received the alarm at 1:54 p.m. and it was put under control at 2:08 p.m.
According to the investigation, the fire was caused by an electrical wiring.
No casualties were reported.
P70,000 worth of damage were estimated by authorities. (MLC)
