7.4 Magnitude Quake Hits Cebu, Mindanao
The US Geological Survey said an earthquake with preliminary magnitude of 7.4 hits southern Philippines on Tuesday. There was no threat of pacific wide tsunami after the quake according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii, Gma news online said.
The quake struck at a depth of about 35 km (22 miles) around Bohol island, to the north of Mindanao island. Radio station DZMM reports say that four people died when part of a fish port collapsed.
