6.0-Magnitude Quake Jolts Davao Oriental
A magnitude 6.0 earthquake shook Davao Oriental today, Thursday, but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
The quake of tectonic origin struck 31 kilometers off the town of Tarragona in Davao Oriental at 11:53 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Intensity 4 was felt in Mati City, and intensity 3 was felt in the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Davao.
Phivolcs said tsunamis were not expected but warned there could be numerous aftershocks. (RG Alama/PIA)
