59 More Drug-Free Brgy’s in Cebu This Year
59 more barangays from different municipalities and from a component city was declared drug-free in Cebu Province on June 19, 2018 joining the 185 barangays that were declared drug-free from earlier this year.
According to the Cebu Provincial Government’s press release, 18 barangays from the municipality of Borbon, 17 barangays from the town of Tabogon, nine barangays from Alegria, four barangays each from the towns of Oslob and San Francisco, three barangays from Medellin, two barangays from the municipality of Samboan, and one barangay each from San Remigio, Sogod, and the City of Naga were declared drug-free by the Regional Oversight Committee (ROC) on Barangay Drug Clearing Operations at the Capitol Social Hall
With efforts of the Cebu Provincial government and partner agencies, Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office’s (CPADAO) revived Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), which was integral in clearing 2.8% of the 1,066 barangays of Cebu Province this year.
Cebu Gov. Hilario P. Davide III said that it is the of the Cebu Provincial government’s priority to eradicate illegal drugs in Cebu and that he expects there are more barangays to be drug-free within this year. (Aljun Cainghog/Cebu Provincial Government)
