50% Sitting in Churches During Misa de Gallo

The Archdiocese of Cebu announced the guidelines for the Misa de Gallo in Cebu last Friday, December 10, 2021.

According to the Circular 29-2021 that was released on Friday, the archdiocese said that the 50% seating capacity will be strictly implemented in churches during the celebration of Misa de Gallo. This is in line with the Inter-Agency Task Force’s guidelines.

The Livestreaming of the masses is also highly encouraged by the Archdioceses of Cebu during the Misa de Gallo celebration.

The Archdiocese said that they will continue to enforce the usual health safety protocols that were practiced during masses.

“We continue enforcing our usual liturgical health protocols, especially the wearing of facemasks, conducting thermal scanning, and observing physical distancing,” the archdiocese said in a circular.

The circular also said that the church is in close coordination with their local government units during the celebration of the masses.

“As a general rule, all Misas de Gallo are to be closely coordinated with your respective Local Government Units. This includes those to be held in covered courts or barangay gyms, if ever allowed by your respective Local Government Units,” the circular reads. (ASC)
