Having fun drinking sessions with friends and family is definitely something we look forward to, especially on the weekends or special occasions. However, hangovers can be very annoying to deal with after that fun drinking night out.
Many people say that a hot bowl of soup can help cure hangovers. Luckily, there are a lot of soups in Asia that you might like when that hangover strikes.
Congee – Hong Kong
A hot congee rice soup can help get the pinging headache out of your system. Congee is a popular breakfast in Hong Kong and also a good comfort food after drinking night out.
Kongnamul-guk – South Korea
This soup from South Korea is made with bean sprouts and is common in the night markets around South Korea. A warm soup on your belly can definitely help you get rid of that icky feeling in your stomach after drinking liquor.
Ramen – Japan
A nice warm bowl of ramen will help you recover from a hangover. There are 24-hour ramen shops that are open, particularly in Tokyo that you can go to and help you from that hangover.
Jungle Curry – Thailand
Some say that spicy foods help cure hangovers. Well, we have one from Thailand. The jungle curry is a spicy clear soup made with different herbs, bamboo shoots, galangal, fresh Thai pepper, eggplant, green beans, jalapeños, and more. It will help you warm your tummy and feel refreshed. The spiciness will also help jumpstart your metabolism making your hangover go away much quicker.
Bulalo – Philippines
The Philippines’ Bulalo is a great way to chase that hangover away. Bulalo is made with beef broth from cooking beef shanks and bone marrow and typically includes cabbage, onions, garlic, carrots, sweet corn, and potatoes. This beefy soup will help you cure that pesky hangover.
Drinking with friends and family is always a great way to spend time with them. Still, the best way to cure hangovers is to drink moderately or just don’t drink, but where is the fun in that? (ASC)
