5 Natural Home Cleaners to Substitute Chemical Cleaners
Most chemical cleaners like detergents, stain removers and fabric cleansers often leave behind toxins. There have been numerous studies that have linked such chemical based cleaners to serious health conditions. Such cleaners pose a serious risk to children and pregnant women who come in contact with it. To avoid any such hazards, substitute your chemical cleaner with these natural home cleaners. These cleaners are not only safe but an inexpensive alternative.
All purpose cleaner
Take four tablespoons of baking soda and mix it with 4 cups of water. Mix the solution well and use it with a sponge as a cleaner. You can clean anything from your kitchen counter to appliances and even the inside of your refrigerator with this cleaner.
Glass cleaner
Take two cups of water with half a cup of cider vinegar, quarter cup of rubbing alcohol and a drop or two of any essential oil that you prefer. Combine these ingredients well and store it in a spray bottle. Whenever you need to clean your windows and mirrors, use this solution with a paper towel to do so.
Cleaning porcelain
Take half a lemon and rub it in some coarse salt. Use this lemon to clean your porcelain dishes. You can also use this to clean your sink. This natural cleaner will not only help clean but will also deodorize.
Stain remover
To remove fabric stains, sprinkle a little baking soda on a wet stain and dust off the excess from it. Then mix together equal parts of white vinegar and water and blot out the stains with a clean cloth. Repeat this till the stain has disappeared. Once it’s clean, wash the fabric to remove the vinegar.
To clean tarnish from silverware
Take a few banana peels and mix it with water to make a paste. Rub this paste on your silverware with a soft cloth and then wash it off. Don’t forget to dry it with a clean cloth once you’re done.
