4 New Police Chiefs Assume Office in Cebu

Four new police directors on Thursday assumed office in the cities of Mandaue, Cebu and Lapu-Lapu and Cebu Province as part of a major revamp ordered in the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7.

PRO 7 Director Chief Supt. Noli Taliño said this is part of the major revamp in the PNP, starting from the top and cascading to the lower units.

Senior Supt. Joel Doria, who came from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), replaced Senior Supt. Benjamin Santos as Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director.

Senior Supt. Romel Cabagnot, who came from PRO 8, replaced Senior Supt. Arnel Libed as Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO) director.

Senior Supt. Roberto Alanas, also from NCRPO, assumed as the new Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) director, vice Senior Supt. Jonathan Cabal.

Senior Supt. Jose Macanas, who came from the Highway Patrol Group, also assumed as the new Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) director, replacing Senior Supt. Clifford Gairanod.

The four officials assumed office Thursday after the relief of Gairanod, Santos, Libed and Cabal from their respective posts.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa signed their relief orders.

They started their tour of duty in January, during the time of then PRO 7 Director Chief Supt. Manuel Gaerlan.

Senior Supt. Renato Dugan, PRO 7 personnel division chief, said the foru relieved officials were directed to report to the personnel holding and accounting unit in the PNP Headquarters in Camp Crame. (PNA) LAP/EB/EDS
