4 Gunmen Kill Radio Broadcaster in Ozamiz City

Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental (PNA) – Four gunmen riding tandem on two motorcycles gunned down a radio broadcaster on Thursday in nearby Ozamiz City, this province, the police reported.

Senior Supt. Archival Macala, provincial police director, identified the victim as Cosme Maestrado, the anchorman of Ratsada program of the DXOC-Radyo Pilipino.

Maestrado also hosts a television (TV) news program at a TV cable firm in Ozamiz City.

Macala said Maestrado was repeatedly shot by four gunmen around 9:30 a.m. Thursday in front of a shopping center along Rizal Street, Ozamiz City.

Macala said initial investigation showed that Maestrado was about to park his car when the gunmen surfaced and opened fire.

He said the victim, who sustained 10 gunshot wounds, was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

He said the police of Ozamiz City are thoroughly investigating the incident. (PNA) CTB/TPGJR/PJMT
