A send-off ceremony for the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) newly activated 94th Infantry (Mandirigma) Battalion (94IB)was conducted last June 6 at Camp General Macario Peralta, Jr. in Jamindan town.

3ID Commander Brig. Gen. Dinoh Dolina led the send-off ceremony in time with the closing ceremony of the 94IB’s organizational training.

In his message, Brig. Gen. Dolina reminded the troops to continue adhering to International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights and Rule of Law as they perform their mandate of serving and securing the Negrenses.

“Always put the people’s welfare at the center of your duties,” he emphasized.

The 94IB, composed of about 500 strong and proficient officers and enlisted personnel, is slated to augment the 303rd Infantry (Brown Eagle) Brigade in Negros Island after successfully completing an organizational training designed for counter-insurgency operations and other trainings that will enhance their combat competency.

It is led by Lt. Col. Carlo Ferrer as battalion commander.

With the deployment of 94IB, Negros Island will now have four infantry battalions to include 62IB, 79IB and 15IB.

Months ago, the 15IB, an infantry battalion of 3ID stationed in Mindanao returned to Negros and is now assigned in Southern Negros.

The 94IB was formally activated by Army Chief Lt. Gen. Rolando Joselito Bautista on May 10 during the 44th founding anniversary celebration of the 3ID at Camp Peralta. (LTP/AAL/PIA6 Capiz/3ID-PAO)
