A total of 368 construction workers in Clark Freeport Zone received P2.2 million monetary claims from their employer through the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

DOLE Regional Director Zenaida Angara-Campita said workers filed a request for assistance at their Clark Satellite Office and after just a four-hour conference, a settlement was reached for the unpaid wages.

“We are grateful for the openness and eagerness of both parties to have their issues settled peacefully through the aid of our SEnA program. Through our intervention, we were able to facilitate an amicable settlement and prevent this particular labor issue from materializing to a full blown labor case, saving both parties from going through huge litigation expenses,” Angara-Campita added.

SEnA is a flagship mediational program of the DOLE which aims to resolve labor disputes speedily and inexpensively. (CLJD/MJLS-PIA 3)
