365 Families Get Assistance From Senator Bong Go

365 fire victim families from Barangay Ibo in Lapu-Lapu City received assistance from Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Saturday, August 3.

Senator Go along with Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Dino, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan, personnel from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and National Housing Authority (NHA) were present to aid the fire victims.

Senator Go said that he personally gave P2,000 cash assistance and grocery packs for each family.

Also present in the relief operation are the celebrities Phillip Salvador and Robin Padilla.

“Kaning atoa palingaw rani para man lang mapakatawa tamo, ayaw ko ninyo isipa nga senador ko, silingan rata bisag asa mo nga iskina sudlon tamo (This is just a way to make you laugh despite the situation you’re currently experiencing. Don’t think of me as a senator, we’re just neighbors, just let me know and I will help you anytime, anywhere),” Go said.

Senator Go also pledged to give free school supplies including school uniforms.

The fire broke out last July 21 where 365 families were left homeless.

921 individuals were affected by the fire with P500,000 estimated worth of damages. (MLC)
