3 Towns in Pampanga Put Under State of Calamity
City of San Fernando, Pampanga (PNA) -–The towns of Candaba, San Luis and Arayat in this province were put under a state of calamity due to massive flooding brought by typhoon Lando.
Based on the report from the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC), more areas in the province are still flooded after the floodwaters from the neighboring Nueva Ecija cascaded resulting to the overflowing of the Pampanga river.
In Candaba, 16 barangays remain submerged in floodwaters as high as 10 feet.
Thirteen barangays in San Luis, on the other hand, are still flooded up to seven feet deep.
Fifteen villages in Arayat were also under water up to eight feet high.
A total of 81 barangays in Pampanga are still flooded.
Some 6,045 families or 25,319 individuals were affected in Pampanga by floods brought by typhoon Lando.
Damage to agriculture in this province was initially pegged at Php75.38 million. (PNA) FPV/ZST/PS
