3 Bicol Provinces Under Typhoon Signal No.1
Legazpi City (PNA) — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Storm Signal No 1 for Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte and Catanduanes as of Thursday morning.
These provinces will experience very light or no damage to low-risk structures and light damage to medium to high-risk structures.
Slight damage to some houses of very light materials or makeshift structures in exposed communities might occur while some banana plants might be tilted, a few downed, and leaves are generally damaged, the PAGASA.
Twigs of small trees may be broken but rice crops may suffer significant damage when these are in flowering stage, it said.
Earlier, Classes in all levels, both in public and private schools in Albay, were suspended as a preventive disaster measure, the Albay Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) said.
Albay Gov. Joey Salceda, PDRRMC chairperson, issued Thursday an advisory suspending classes in all level in Albay as a public safety and health preventive measure due to the onset of the LPA weather system affecting the Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao regions.
The local weather bureau here issued a rainfall advisory at 5:20 a.m.
Thursday, saying cloudy skies with light-to-moderate rains and isolated thunderstorm will be experienced over Bicol region, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MMIRMAROPA and Eastern Visayas.
