3 Airlines Cancel Manila-HK Flights Due to Protests
Due to the ongoing public protests in Hong Kong, at least three airlines (Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Cathay Pacific) have announced cancellation of flights between Manila and Hong Kong on Monday.
The airlines issued the cancellations as protests are causing a slowdown in airport operations, and that the Airport Authority Hong Kong have implemented a flight reduction scheme.
The cancelled flights were:
Philippine Airlines (PR) 318 – MNL – HKG
PR319 – HKG – MNL
PR306 – MNL – HKG
PR307 – HKG – MNL
Cathay Pacific (CX) 907 – HKG – MNL
CX906 – MNL – HKG
CX919 – HKG – MNL
CX918 – MNL – HKG-
CX903 – HKG – MNL
CX902 – MNL – HKG
CX935 – HKG – MNL
CX934 – MNL – HKG
CX939 – HKG – MNL
Cebu Pacific (5J) 112 MNL – HKG
5J 113 HKG – MNL
Cebu Pacific spokesperson Charo Lagamon said passengers of cancelled flights will be accommodated later today: 5J 114 MNL-HKG at 6:05 p.m., and 5J 115 HKG-MNL at 10:05 p.m.
The airline will waive all charges for rebooking and refunds for tickets with dates August 5-7, she added.
Cathay Pacific, meanwhile, also announced cancellation of CX 976 and CX 912 MNL-HKG flights scheduled for August 6. (PNA)
