2GO, the Philippines’ leading logistics and passenger transport provider, is reinforcing its presence in the Visayas and Mindanao regions with the launch of new routes and the expansion of its fleet. These strategic initiatives aim to meet the growing demand for seamless travel and trade solutions while further solidifying Cebu’s status as a vital hub for Central Visayas.

In 2024, 2GO transported nearly 160,000 passengers through the Cebu City port, underscoring the city’s importance as a dynamic center for sea travel and inter-island commerce. This year, 2GO continues to enhance regional connectivity with new ports of call in Davao City and General Santos City, fostering tourism and trade between these key destinations.

The newly established route links General Santos (GES) and Davao (DVO) to Cebu (CEB) before returning to Manila. This innovative itinerary provides Southern Mindanao travelers with a more convenient and trade-friendly alternative to traditional land and air travel. Through 2GO’s RORO and cargo services, passengers can transport goods with ease while enjoying a comfortable sea journey.

Supporting this expansion is the addition of five state-of-the-art ships to 2GO’s growing fleet: the twin ships MV 2GO Masikap and Masinag, the sister ships MV 2GO Maligaya and Masagana, and the MV 2GO Masigla. These new vessels significantly enhance 2GO’s capacity to serve more passengers and cargo, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.

“We are proud to witness this growth and remain dedicated to providing more efficient and accessible transportation services for the Visayas and Mindanao regions,” said Blessie Cruz, 2GO Retail Business Unit Head. “Our enhanced routes are a testament to our commitment to connecting communities and empowering businesses through seamless travel and delivery solutions.”

Currently, 2GO is the only sea travel provider offering routes from Davao and General Santos to Cebu, solidifying its leadership in regional sea transport. By continuously investing in innovative logistics and passenger solutions, 2GO provides travelers and businesses with reliable and cost-effective options, fostering economic development in the country’s key regions.

To further strengthen its commitment to connectivity, 2GO operates multiple weekly sailings from Cebu, including up to five trips to Manila, two to Cagayan de Oro, and one to Tagbilaran. These regular services provide passengers and businesses with flexible travel options, reinforcing Cebu’s pivotal role in inter-island trade and tourism.
